Dobrin Petkov National School of Music and Dance Plovdiv is one of the main educational institutions in the field of Bulgarian musical art under the direct control of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The school shall conduct a thorough and comprehensive music education from grade 1 to 12 with instrumental, ballet and vocal classes. Also, regular classes until noon shall be conducted with preschool children.

The teaching staff is formed by highly qualified and established teachers, some of which have won national and cultural awards.

The school offers intensive artistic and educational activities - concerts, competitions, master classes, open lessons, multimedia projects, general and sports competitions.

The students are winners and have won many awards from prestigious international and all national music competitions and festivals.

Graduates of the school are Fellows of the Ministry of Culture's program of measures for the protection of gifted children.

One of the emblematic events are the annual concerts, where most outstanding young talents of the school stood on the stage as soloists of the Symphony Orchestra of Plovdiv; this is a long tradition set by Maestro Dobrin Petkov.
